A diversified mechanical engineer with over 20 years of experience spanning the energy, mining, workshop fabrication & design, and food and beverage sectors. A member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE, UK), he works across project management, maintenance engineering, structural steel design, and materials and components testing using both destructive and non-destructive methods.
Rangarirai is a specialist in macro-level energy systems modelling, using advanced international tools such as MAED and MESSAGE for strategic planning and troubleshooting — complementing a strong background in plant modernisation, heavy industrial upgrades and utility infrastructure development across Southern Africa.
As Site Engineer for MoreWear Industries assigned to Bindura Nickel Corporation, he supervised the mechanical modernisation of Trojan Mine’s upgraded concentrator plant, and his execution portfolio includes the delivery of 80tph crushing and milling circuits at Freda Rebecca Gold Mine. On a macroscopic scale he has provided engineering and project-management oversight for multibillion-dollar utility developments, guiding capacity expansions at both the Hwange Thermal Power Station and the Kariba Hydro Expansion Project.
His technical leadership is backed by advanced training in Project Management (PMBOK, Project Management Academy, South Africa), Nuclear Energy Management (Joint IAEA-ICTP, Italy), Energy Demand & Supply Modelling (International Atomic Energy Agency, Austria) and Wind Turbine Technology (National Institute of Wind Energy, India).
