Micuner Muhita
Principal Consulting Engineer
A seasoned engineering professional with more than two decades guiding mining and industrial projects from concept development through commissioning. A University of Zimbabwe B.Sc. Electrical Engineering graduate with an MBA, Micuner blends technical depth with strategic insight to deliver projects that meet both operational and financial objectives.
He has led major initiatives including the Hunters Road Greenfield Mining Project, the Trojan Mine shaft re-deepening, the Trojan Mine restart and flotation plant, the Bindura Smelter & Refinery oxygen-injection plant and the Sable Chemical Industries acid-plant upgrade. More recently he has played a pivotal role in the Sandawana Lithium Project Feasibility Study, the Shamva Hill Gold Project and the Jena Mines Expansion Project Concept Study.
Micuner’s expertise spans electrical, instrumentation & control and mechanical engineering, supported by senior leadership experience as General Manager Engineering at Bindura Nickel Corporation, where he helped reshape the corporation’s business model and align its strategic projects with long-term growth ambitions. A committed advocate of the “learning organisation” philosophy, he builds environments where teams expand their capacity to deliver.
Godwin Kangambeu
Senior Consulting Process Engineer
An accomplished process engineer with more than 28 years of mineral processing experience spanning production management, technical support and project execution across nickel, copper, cobalt and gold. He is recognised for building high-performance teams and embedding metallurgical best practice across operations in Zimbabwe and the broader region.
His foundation is a 12-year tenure at Bindura Nickel Corporation, where he served as Plant Metallurgist at Shangani Mine — gaining deep exposure to hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical operations across concentrators, smelters and refineries — before advancing to Plant Manager at Trojan Nickel Mine. Regionally he spent three years as Section Manager Concentrator for Norilsk Nickel’s Tati Nickel Mining Company in Botswana, followed by roles as Projects Superintendent and Production Superintendent over concentrator operations for Polaris II’s BCL Limited. After serving as Technical Project Lead for Ample Resources Africa, Godwin joined MMEP as Senior Consulting Process Engineer in January 2022.
He has led and supported metallurgical initiatives from concept through commissioning, including the Trojan New Concentrator and the Bindura Smelter & Refinery PSA and oxygen-injection plants, and drove project conception and test-work review for the Hunters Road greenfield project. He was Lead Metallurgist on the 2016 Selkirk Bankable Feasibility Study in Botswana and contributed to the 2022 bankable feasibility studies for the restart of the Tati and BCL operations.
Philip Karembera
Senior Consulting Mining Engineer
A highly accomplished mining engineer with over 15 years of progressive experience across mine planning, operations and technical design in both surface (open-cast) and underground environments. His expertise is grounded in hands-on execution across diverse geological settings — narrow-reef gold, large-orebody asbestos, gold and nickel deposits — spanning conventional track mining and modern trackless mechanised systems.
A power user of industry-leading mine planning software, Philip is proficient in Whittle for optimisation, Datamine Studio for mine design and scheduling, Surpac and Minesched, and is a certified Deswik Software Superuser with advanced command of Deswik.CAD, Deswik.IS and Deswik.Sched across underground and open-pit applications. He has delivered robust Life-of-Mine schedules, tactical and operational plans and complex sequencing for underground operations, open pits and dump-extraction hydro-sluicing projects, and has trained multidisciplinary technical teams across multiple continents from zero exposure to full operational proficiency within weeks. His practical knowledge extends to mine shaft design from concept through detailed design and implementation, as well as open-pit optimisation.
Philip began with a seven-year tenure at Metallon Gold Zimbabwe (2007–2014), then spent eight years at Bindura Nickel Corporation’s Trojan Mine as Business Improvement Official, Mine Planning Engineer, Senior Mine Planning Engineer and Underground Manager, before joining Pan African Mining and rising to Group Mining Project Engineer, where he led strategic projects and optimisation initiatives. He joined MMEP in 2024. Trained in ISO 9001/14001 integrated management systems, his programmes include the Trojan Mine shaft re-deepening and commissioning, the Trojan Mine Restart Project, and the digitisation, evaluation and systems setup for both Ayrshire Mine Underground and the Muriel Dump Hydrosluicing Project.
Cleopas Machingauta
Senior Consulting Resource Geologist
A highly accomplished resource geologist with over 34 years of mining, exploration and consultancy experience spanning Zimbabwe and the broader African continent. A registered member of the Geological Society of Zimbabwe, his multi-commodity expertise covers gold, nickel, platinum, lithium, coal, limestone and gemstones, making him a versatile authority in resource evaluation.
Cleopas holds elite competencies in geostatistical modelling and database management, generating compliant mineral resource statements in Datamine in strict accordance with JORC and SAMREC guidelines. His operational mastery extends to planning and supervising large-scale drilling programmes, trenching, core logging, surface and underground mapping, reserve calculations, and auditing QA/QC procedures for high-volume mine laboratories.
Twelve years at Anglo American and Bindura Nickel Corporation took him to Group Resource Geologist, managing all geological elements of Trojan Mine, driving geo-metallurgical modelling for the Hunters Road Nickel Project and spearheading greenfield gold exploration in Senegal. He later joined AngloGold Ashanti as Senior Evaluation Geologist at the Siguiri Gold Mine in Guinea, overseeing resource modelling and a 2,000-sample-per-day assay laboratory. From 2011 to 2022 he consulted independently through Edelrod Consulting and SRK Consulting, delivering technical appraisals, independent geological reviews and due diligence studies for major mining acquisitions and corporate entities including Trojan Nickel Mine, Freda Rebecca Gold Mine and Hwange Colliery. Cleopas joined MMEP in 2023.
Rangarirai Pande
Senior Consulting Mechanical Engineer
A diversified mechanical engineer with over 20 years of experience spanning the energy, mining, workshop fabrication & design, and food and beverage sectors. A member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE, UK), he works across project management, maintenance engineering, structural steel design, and materials and components testing using both destructive and non-destructive methods.
Rangarirai is a specialist in macro-level energy systems modelling, using advanced international tools such as MAED and MESSAGE for strategic planning and troubleshooting — complementing a strong background in plant modernisation, heavy industrial upgrades and utility infrastructure development across Southern Africa.
As Site Engineer for MoreWear Industries assigned to Bindura Nickel Corporation, he supervised the mechanical modernisation of Trojan Mine’s upgraded concentrator plant, and his execution portfolio includes the delivery of 80tph crushing and milling circuits at Freda Rebecca Gold Mine. On a macroscopic scale he has provided engineering and project-management oversight for multibillion-dollar utility developments, guiding capacity expansions at both the Hwange Thermal Power Station and the Kariba Hydro Expansion Project.
His technical leadership is backed by advanced training in Project Management (PMBOK, Project Management Academy, South Africa), Nuclear Energy Management (Joint IAEA-ICTP, Italy), Energy Demand & Supply Modelling (International Atomic Energy Agency, Austria) and Wind Turbine Technology (National Institute of Wind Energy, India).

Trymore Jakarasi
Senior Consulting Electrical Engineer
An accomplished electrical engineer with more than fifteen years of professional experience covering mine operations, engineering maintenance, project management, plant construction and refurbishment, contract management and plant design. His career spans both open-cast and underground mining environments, with extensive hands-on expertise in concentrator plants, steam plants, power generation systems, ore smelting operations and refinery processes.
Trymore has served as Electrical Manager at Delta Gold Zimbabwe, Process Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer at Zimasco, and Assistant Engineer at Mimosa Mining Company — work that has consistently involved major plant construction and refurbishment, complex engineering maintenance programmes and the management of technical contracts across diverse operational settings.
He has led numerous projects from concept through to commissioning, including the design and installation of electrical substations, implementation of collision-avoidance and detection systems across mining fleets, PLC upgrades, furnace relines, large-scale electrical infrastructure improvements and a 16 MWp solar power project. Trymore holds a BSc (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe (2010), complemented by certification in Project Management and professional qualifications in Maintenance and Asset Management. He is highly proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project, with a strong command of resource scheduling, technical risk management and engineering governance.
Wence Kutekwatekwa
Associate — Senior Project Manager
A distinctively driven mining engineer whose career spans underground and surface mining production, technical and operational planning, project management, contract management, equipment marketing, organisational development, executive leadership and corporate governance — a consistent progression through senior technical and managerial roles across Zimbabwe’s major mining houses.
A University of Zimbabwe BSc (Hons) Mining Engineering graduate, he began his career with Anglo American Zimbabwe as a graduate trainee, working across several of the group’s operations and rising to Mine Manager. In 2001 he transferred to the Unki Platinum Mine Trial Project as Mine Manager, joining Zimasco the following year as Business Value Planning Manager. He returned to AA Mines as Technical Executive in 2006 before moving to Bindura Nickel Corporation in 2007 as Project Manager for the Hunters Road greenfield development, and was appointed General Manager of Trojan Nickel Mine in 2008, where he also oversaw the restart of Freda Rebecca Mine. He rejoined Zimasco in 2009 as General Manager for the North and Middle Dyke Division, moved to Atlas Copco Zimbabwe as Country Manager in 2010, and founded Virimai Projects in 2014, where he is Principal Consultant. He has been an Associate Consultant to MMEP since 2016.
Wence holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Durham, UK (2001). His professional development includes the Africa Director Programme (University of Stellenbosch Business School, 2019), PRINCE2® Registered Practitioner certification (APMG International, 2011), a Certificate of Competence in Project Management (Institute of Project Management of Zimbabwe) and the Advanced International Training Programme in Mining Technology (Luleå University of Technology, Sweden, 2001). He is a Fellow of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Past President of its Zimbabwean branch.
Arimon Ngirazi
Associate — Lead Exploration & Resource Geologist
An experienced geologist with more than twenty years of specialised practice in geological and orebody computer modelling, geostatistical modelling and resource evaluation. His expertise spans the supervision and optimisation of exploration drilling programmes for both underground and surface operations, detailed geological mapping and core logging, sampling design, and comprehensive QA/QC for assay and non-assay processes. He is highly skilled in 3D orebody modelling, resource estimation and reporting, underground and open-pit grade control, and reconciliation from resource model to plant output — complemented by strong database administration skills and extensive proficiency in Datamine, Isatis and Surpac.
Arimon graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 1991 with a BSc (Hons) in Geology and joined Bindura Nickel Corporation the following year as a graduate learner. He was appointed Mine Geologist in 1994 and seconded to the Prospecting Division, advancing a year later to Staff Geologist – Resource and Evaluation. In 1996 he moved to Anglo American’s head office as Senior Resource Evaluation Geologist, and was promoted to Group Mineral Resource Engineer in 1999. He joined the Unki Platinum Mine project as Project Geologist and Mineral Resource Analyst in 2004, left Anglo American in 2007 for Sidiola Yatela Mines in Mali as Senior Resource Evaluation Geologist, and returned to Zimbabwe in 2010 as Country Manager and Principal Consultant for SRK Consulting. He has been an Associate Consultant to MMEP since 2016.
His work includes several internal publications on reconciliation, project resuscitation, geological modelling and resource estimation. Arimon holds an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe (2007) and CFSG Mining Geostatistics (Fontainebleau, 1999), and is a member of SAIMM, AusIMM, GASA and the Geological Society of Zimbabwe.
